Why are you studying political science?

"I think I want to work in the municipal government. I’ve always been interested in the systems and politics, like the government as an actor. I am trying to minor in environmental science, and urban studies, but we'll see. I like the idea of working to try to better the community."
What objects in your dorm represent your identity or home life?

"I went through my camera roll from the past three and printed all my favorite pictures. It was an experience to pick them all out, because these are all little special memories. It helped me remember what was happening, and that brings me joy. Moving everything cross country is really insane, and I gave most of my space to jackets. I also have an obsession with Starbucks cups. My mom thinks it’s ridiculous, but I have like four or five more at home."

What are you struggling with?

"I think a lot of us come into the freshman year of college expecting it's going to be like senior year in high school. And suddenly you're like, well, this is not as great as I imagined. It's really hard. Then I'm like, wait, I don't know why I'm expecting to have these friendships and these moments that I had with people after I was friends with them for five years in high school, versus now when I've known these people for less than six months. I feel like I'm more aware of that. And I'm able to have more personal happiness, and less being dependent on other things. I was not thriving high school freshman year… why would I expect myself to be thriving now?"
College can be hard. Student Wellbeing provides support for Boston University students with resources, like the one below:

"Student Wellbeing is delighted to be partnering with Undergraduate Affairs and the BU Hub to bring a new cocurricular course to life. This Hub cocurricular (HUB CC 127) is designed especially for first-year students... Students will have the opportunity to reflect on and talk about their experiences at BU in real-time with their peers, specifically how they’re finding their way in the classrooms, residence halls, dining halls, labs, social spaces and more!"
