Why are you studying biomedical engineering?

"I was really into like biology, but I also like math and like physics. I wanted to choose a major that combined everything."

What objects in your dorm represent your identity or home life?

"On my wall, I have pictures of me and my friends that my sister took. She loves photography, and so she had us model. That's like one of my core memories, it was really fun. I have a few sketches and drawings on there too. I have a collection of Funko Pops – I'm a huge Marvel fan."

What are you struggling with?

"Time management. I'll procrastinate my assignments to the last minute, and this habit continues because I somehow always get stuff done. When I’m writing essays especially, I like to spend time and think about what I write, and when I spend time to think, my thoughts wander, and I get distracted easily.

Socially, as well. I've noticed people here are clique-y. I don't think it's intentional though, because everybody wants to make friends and wants to stick with those friends. But sometimes people aren’t open to talking to everybody. Something that I was worried about coming to BU was making friends because I’m someone with bad social anxiety, and I overthink a lot. I’m also trying to navigate my identity in terms of race and toxic masculinity, so finding people that would allow me to be comfortable in myself was something I was worried about."
